The Ethicon EL5ML LIGAMAX5 Endoscopic Multiple Clip Applier is intended for use on tubular structures or vessels wherever a metal ligating clip is indicated.
Proper formation & unique clip design means on-structure clip security. Axial & lateral clip grooves minimize the risk of clip migration, increasing the force to remove the clip from a structure compared to a smooth clip.
- Collapsible Jaws-Allows jaws to collapse down and fit in 5mm trocar
- Trocar Insertion Line-Indicator that the instrument is inserted far enough in the trocar for jaws to open fully
- Clip Indicator-Orange bar appears after the 13th clip has been fired and the window progressively fills to indicate that 2, 1, or no clips remain
- Tissue Stop-Minimizes contact of the vessel or duct with the apex of the clip to minimize the chance of clip dislodgement
- Clip Advancer Tab-Facilitates clip feeding and provides contact point during formation to aid stability during the firing cycle
- Anti-backup Ratchet Mechanism-Prevents interruptions in the firing sequence from affecting in-jaw clip stability
Expiration dates have mostly to do with sterilization and not the integrity of the product. The manufacturers sterilize the products after they are packaged and it lasts so many years. The only products we caution customers about are ones that are absorbable or drug coated.
