The Covidien 173016 Endo Stitch Auto Suture Suturing Device is designed for introduction and use through all appropriately sized trocar sleeves or larger sized trocar sleeves with the use of a converter.
It has application in endoscopic surgery for the placement of interrupted or running stitches in soft tissues.
- The handle section consists of two toggle levers, two black unloading buttons (one on the front and one on
the back), and two handles. - To close the jaws, fully squeeze the handles. To open the jaws, release the handles. Adjust the amount that
the jaws are opened by simply varying the amount that the handles are squeezed. - This allows for access to tight operative sites. The needle is passed back and forth between the device’s jaws by completely squeezing the handles and activating either toggle lever forward or backward.
- (If a suture and needle are not loaded into the device, the suture can be loaded into the jaws per the loading instructions.)
Expiration dates have mostly to do with sterilization and not the integrity of the product. The manufacturers sterilize the products after they are packaged and it lasts so many years. The only products we caution customers about are ones that are absorbable or drug coated.
