GE Marquette and Quinton are the leading manufacturers of stress systems in the US hospital market and Burdick is the leading manufacturer in the Physician market. Stress systems are combinations of ECG’s and treadmills or Exercise Bikes designed and linked together with a computer system.
The systems have protocols in them that automatically put the treadmill at different angles and speeds during the test. The key factor of a stress system is the quality of the interpretive program and information in the final report.
